立秋を迎えた昨日から、東北は急激に気温が下がりましたね。
仙台七夕は今日が最終日です。今年もすばらしい作品がそろいました。

台風の影響で雨模様が続いていますが、風に揺れる七夕飾りも素敵です。

石ノ森萬画館の第70回特別企画展「サンリオキャラクターズ  かわいいのヒミツ展」が始まりました。
「ハローキティ」「マイメロディ」「シナモロール」など、サンリオの新旧キャラを一堂に集め、誕生秘話や貴重な原画、なつかしいグッズとともに、世代を超えて愛される秘密を公開します。

ことし創業58年を迎えたサンリオは、これまでに400を超えるキャラクターを生み出してきました。
デザイナーからデザイナーへ伝えられてきた作画手法やデザインのポイントを詳しく紹介したり、キャラクター大賞のノミネートキャラがひとりずつヒミツを発表したりと、大人も十分楽しる展示内容です。

今回ナビゲーターを務めるのは、双子のきょうだい星「リトルツインスターズ」のキキ（弟）とララ（姉）。2011年3月から種を植え続け大切に育てている「希望の花」の押し花しおりを届けに、萬画館に来てくれました。

思い返せば、ずっと前から文房具や生活用品の中に、いつもサンリオのキャラクターがいました。
小さな女の子たちが、会場に入るなり夢の国へ迷い込んだように目を輝かせる様子に、サンリオがつくり続けてきた「かわいい」の一番のヒミツがあるように見えます。キャラクターの生い立ち、ふるまい、いつものセリフなどへのあこがれは、心身が成長してもずっと心の奥で生き続けます。シナモロールからみんなへのメッセージ「ぼくはいつだって、キミのいちばんそばにいるよ。」のように。

願わくは、これからの人生で迷ったときや悲しいことが起こったときにも、幼いころ夢中になったキャラクターたちが、純粋な道しるべとして思い出される存在になってほしいですね(^^)

企画展連動のワークショップや、恒例のオリジナルカフェメニュー、街なかスタンプラリーなどもぜひ楽しんでください。

Known as The cat island, Tashiro-jima is a small island in Ishinomaki City, in Miyagi Prefecture.
Surrounded by cobalt blue sea, this island still has magnificent nature that remains untouched. The climate is mild and easy and you can see many big tab (Thunbergii) usually grown in temperate areas.

The main industries of the island is fishery. There are two villages on the island, Nitoda and Odomari.
Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, caused major damage, but due to hard restoration work, the electricity and water supply was recovered in July and the shipping route was fully restored in January of the following year.

Before 10 years ago, fisherman were the only people who care to Tashirojima, but it was introduced in the media as “cat island” ”cat paradise”, now many people from all over the world come to see the cats.

猫の島として知られる田代島は、宮城県石巻市にある小さな離島です。
コバルトブルーの海に囲まれたこの島には、今も手つかずの雄大な自然が残っています。気候は温暖で過ごしやすく、温帯地域に自生するタブの大木が多く見られます。

島の主な産業は、定置網や刺し網、養殖などの水産業で、南部の仁斗田地区と北部の大泊地区のふたつの集落があります。
2011年3月11日の東日本大震災では大きな被害に遭いましたが、懸命な復旧作業により7月には電気・水道が、翌年1月には船の航路が完全に復旧しました。

かつて、島を訪れるのは少数の釣り客くらいでしたが、10年ほど前にメディアで「猫が多い島」「猫の楽園」と紹介されてからは、猫を見に世界中から多くの観光客が訪れるようになりました。

Access to the island utilizes the “Ajishima Line”. Since the ferry operates several times per day, we recommend using one departing in the morning if you want to take your time on the island.

On the island, in addition to .the inn, there is a lodge Named “Manga Island” you can enjoy.

Cats of Tashiro Island are said to be somewhere between domestic and stray they are called “regional cats” that live in the lives of people. Food is given by the islanders, so, tourists are not allowed to feed them.

In Tashiro Island where the production of Mayu was popular long ago, a cat was kept in order to protect Mayu from rats. Also, on the island, cats once believe to play a role as a guardian of large catches, fisherman predicted weather by the behavior of cats.

島へのアクセスは「網地島ライン」を利用します。フェリーは一日数便の運航なので、島でゆっくりしたい方は午前の一便の利用をおすすめします。

島には民宿のほか、夏のキャンプを楽しめる「マンガアイランド」が整備されています。

田代島の猫は、飼い猫と野良猫の中間の存在で、人々の生活に溶け込んで暮らす「地域猫」と言われています。エサは島民が与えているので、観光客が与えてはいけないようです。

昔、マユの生産が盛んだった田代島では、マユをネズミから守るために、猫が大事に飼われていました。また、島では猫を大漁の守り神としても大切にし、漁師たちは猫の動作などから天候や漁を予測していたそうです。

Those cats in the spots are friendly, you might want to pet them. However, please be careful when you do. As every cat owner knows, cats can bite.

港から集落へ向かって歩いていくと、猫たちが集まるスポットがいくつかあります。人馴れしていますが、基本的に野生の猫なので十分気を付けてください。

In the center of the island, there is a “cat shrine” the worships the cat God.

島の中央には猫神様を祀った「猫神社」があります。

Cats live peacefully in the where the traces of the earthquake still remain.

震災の跡が残る土地でゆっくり暮らす猫たち。

On the island, there are cats living on the beach, in the mountain, and in the village, they are all unique and fun.

島には浜で生活する猫と山で生活する猫、集落で生活する猫がいて、それぞれ個性的な面々がそろっています。

1.About 40 minutes from Sendai Higashi IC to Ishinomaki Port IC using Sanriku Expressway.
2.About 20 minutes form Ishinomaki IC to the dock.
